Scope of the Role
To assist with leading and developing a team of Building Services Engineers in the London office. The Principal Engineer will also be responsible for managing design production for major projects under their control.

•Demonstrable experience and understanding of the engineering aspects of buildings and sustainable design

Our client is a major Engineering and construction consultancy who are currently seeking an electrical engineer to supplement their team.
To carry out electrical design on rail,building services and infrastructure projects, initially consisting mainly of building services for station modernisations.

To produce electrical designs and specifications for a wide range of projects including station modernisation, water and sewage treatment works, pollution control measures at rail depots and building services in schools and industrial buildings. Input will include cable sizing, lighting designs, control systems, electrical distributions systems (including fault levels and discrimination calculations), motor starter panels specifications and site surveys.
To work as part of a team with mechanical and civil/structural engineers under the guidance of a senior electrical engineer.

Purpose Of The Job
To carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive works to building plant, equipment and systems in accordance with agreed service levels, and respond to site engineering emergencies.
Undertake small installation works, repairs to building fabric, and handyman duties.
Key Responsibilities
1 Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.
2 Respond to Building Management System alarms, and effect emergency repairs as needed.
3 Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems.
4 Ensure that Evaporative Cooling Systems and domestic water systems are maintained to comply with the requirements of the L8 standard.
5 Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant.
6 Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of “Frontline” task sheets.
7 Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices
8 Ensure that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual commitments, and site operating processes.
9 To develop a good working relationship with all members of Managed Services staff and clients staff.
10 Ensure the provision of a safe & healthy working environment, and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements, as required.
11 Ensure a professional image of Managed Services is presented to clients and visitors, and ensure excellence in customer service is delivered and promoted at all times.
