Our client is a major engineering design and construction consultancy who are currently seeking a Utilities Engineer/ Diversionary Works Planner
to assist the utilities team leader in planning projects and managing delivery of utility diversions for a wide variety of highway projects and construction developments. The role is within the Highways and Utilities Team in London office.
Interpretation and application of engineering and technical standards. Development of briefs for technical and other studies. Direct input and technical advice to reports.
Conceptual engineering design and problem solving of technical issues.

Review/design of proposed utility company diversions from concept to detailed design, Client and utility company liaison.
Programming and planning diversion schemes. Preparation of design, studies, specifications and reports.
Interfacing with other professionals and authorities. Communicating professionally, effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing. Contributing to management and professional activities. Being a pro-active team member

Technical qualification up to Degree level is an advantage. Technical experience in diversionary works is essential
Essential Skills or Background Experience of Civil diversionary works programming, implementation of the NRSWA. Understanding of requirements/documentation needed to achieve statutory consents and approvals.
Experience of utility works associated with highway and development projects.
Experience of similar major public utility coordination and diversion projects in UK. Experience of liaison and negotiation with utility companies in any of the following sectors (EDF, Thames Water, BT& National Grid Gas).
